3 - Did you know?
A System Lock Override tool has been added to the Vantage Lite (v5.08 software).
This feature allows you to programme the Vantage Lite without needing to turn the System Lock OFF. To use this feature, you need to insert a USB stick into the device, go to the System Lock Settings and select Create System Lock Override - this inserts an override file onto the USB stick. By plugging this USB stick into a device with System Lock On, the Toolbox is temporarily unlocked, thus allowing you to programme your device. Removing the USB stick turns System Lock back On. |

 4 - New Products - NOVA chat 7
During 2012 Liberator will be launching the NOVA chat range by Saltillo. We have just launched the NOVA chat 7.
NOVA chat 7 is a communication system on an Android platform. It offers a durable yet sleek portable design housed in a rubberised case and has a variety of vocabulary programmes including ChatPower. SymbolStix™ symbols are standard within NOVA Chat range however PCS™ symbols can be added as well as the option to import symbols.
Ivona voices which include a child's voice, a teen's voice, as well as numerous American & British English adult options will come as standard in the range, the sound clarity of NOVA chat 7 out does that of any portable communication systems of its size. NOVA chat 7 comes with a 7" screen and weighs only 1.44 lbs. The capacitive touchscreen is accessible by finger touch or an included stylus, there will be a switch option available soon.

 7 - Your Regional Consultant
Welcome to the first newsletter for 2012. This year promises to be an exciting year for Liberator. Following the success of LAMP last year we are continuing to develop our relationship with The Center for AAC and Autism, we will be working closely with the Center and hopefully announcing a number of workshops near you. We are also celebrating our 21st birthday so an action packed year ahead.
I have been with Liberator for almost 10 years and I have learnt a lot about AAC over the years. I have a particular interest in linguistics which supports my passion for language and language development, last year I worked closely with The Center for AAC and Autism learning how to apply the LAMP therapy approach, this has benefited me significantly and has changed my approach towards AAC implementation. I've been fortunate enough to work with the likes of Gail Van Tatenhove and Bruce Baker which helps me and my team when working in such a specialist field.
I do look forward to seeing you again in the near future, please do not hesitate to contact me if you require LAMP consults, product demonstrations, AAC resources, training or any support, I'd be glad to assist.
